Sophomore point guard Chelsia Lymon scored eight straight points to put MTSU in position to knock off Sun Belt Conference East Division leader Western Kentucky Sunday afternoon.

Senior forward Amber Holt made sure the Lady Raiders finished off the Lady 'Toppers before a crowd of 6,968 at Murphy Center.

With the shot clock winding down in the final 30 seconds, Holt banked in an eight-foot fadeaway jumper that helped lift MTSU to a thrilling 68-60 victory.

MTSU (16-10, 11-4) was clinging to a 62-60 lead when it called timeout with 36 seconds left in the game. Only 10 seconds were left on the shot clock.

"The play we drew up didn't work, but we had the ball in the right person's hands," MTSU coach Rick Insell said. "I've seen her do that time and time again. She's a winner, an absolute winner. ... We didn't give it to her enough."

Added Holt: "It was real big. ... It was great thing, that shot."

Holt scored a game-high 28 points, but Lymon scored eight straight during a pivotal four-minute stretch late in the second half. Continue
