Middle Tennessee Defensive Coordinator leaves the Blue Raiders for the same position at Mississippi State.

After being rumored for several weeks on BlueRaiderZone.com it is now official, Defensive Coordinator Manny Diaz is leaving the Blue Raiders in order to take the same position at Mississippi State.

Diaz came to the Blue Raiders in 2006 as one of the youngest coordinators in the FBS. He is known for coaching an aggressive style of defensive. While at the helm of the Blue Raider defense, Middle Tennessee set numerous records for sacks and tackles for loss.

There is no official information on who will replace Diaz but a likely canadiate could be current cornerbacks coach Steve Ellis. Before coming to Middle Tennessee Ellis was the defensive coordinator at Nicolls State for three years.
