Abney Leaving the Blue Raiders

Johnna Abney takes an indefinite leave of absence at Middle Tennessee.

As reported in BlueRaiderZone.com premium forums early Tuesday afternoon, BlueRaiderZone.com has learned that junior guard Johnna Abney has informed Coach Rick Insell that she has made the decision to take an indefinite leave of absence from the team.

Abney hails from Mt. Vernon, KY and has been known to Blue Raider fans as a player who does a great job protecting the ball and for shooting "NBA-Type" 3-pointers.

Abney has been a starter for the Blue Raiders for her entire career at Middle Tennessee.

There has been no official comment by the university or Abney at this time.
