Christian Brother's Offensive tackle Alex Karr made the trip to Jonesboro Monday to see how things would be during a regular school day, he got the chance to visit a teacher and take in the entire college experience.
That was enough for Arkansas State to earn their 17th commitment from Karr, who made the decision to play football for Gus Malzahn late last night.
"I love everything about Arkansas State," Karr told AStateNation.com Wednesday morning. "I really like Coach Malzahn and Coach Grimes a lot. I got the chance to visit the campus on Monday and I fell in love with it."
Karr, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive lineman, is expected to play tackle for the Red Wolves. He has offers from ASU, Memphis and Middle Tennessee State.
"It just feels like home," Karr said. "I love their facilities now, and they are only going to get that much better with the new facilities they are building."
According to Karr, the ASU coaches were very happy about his decision.
"Coach Malzahn was very excited," Karr said. "He welcomed me to the family, I cant wait to be a Red Wolf."
