Introducing Davison Colimon

For Suncoast High School defensive back Davison Colimon, the recruiting game is pretty laid back. Despite the fact that he hasn't been busy on the camp circuit this Summer, he currently holds five offers and is hoping to land a few more before it's all said and done. He recently talked to BRZ to give us an update.

Davison Colimon Profile

"I currently have five offers and I'm getting other letters from South Florida, Florida and Miami," Colimon says, noting that he's been offered by FIU, Middle Tennessee, Northern Illinois, Georgia State and Bryant so far. "Right now I'm hearing the most from FIU. I like them a lot. It's close to home and I have a lot of family over there."

At 6-1, 190 pounds, the talented safety prospect tallied 110 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions last season. He also boasts elusive speed, noting that he was last timed at 4.6 in the 40-yard dash but maintains that he's gotten faster since then.

Unlike many of his peers, Colimon has taken it easy so far this Summer. He spent the last several days at a local camp put on by Ray Lewis, but has some plans for a big visit this weekend.

"I'm going to the Miami camp this Saturday. It should be good," he says.

Depending on how well he impresses the Hurricane coaching staff this weekend, Colimon could be shutting it down and heading into his senior season with his current five offers. He maintains that he's hoping to add a few more offers in-season, but he'll likely be looking to make a decision before the year ends.

As far as what he's looking for, Colimon maintains that he'll be scoping out certain aspects of potential programs. Among the big ticket items that he'll be on the look out for are the educational opportunities, family feel and depth chart.
